Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate (to be melted)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup white chocolate chips (used as topping)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350F. Grease and line a 8x8 form with parchment paper.
  • In a sauce pan, melt the butter and white chocolate on medium to low heat, then set aside to cool.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugars and eggs.
  • Once the butter and white chocolate has cooled, whisk in the matcha.
  • Whisk in the butter and white chocolate batter into the egg mixture.
  • Sift in the flour and fold gently with a spatula until combined.
  • Pour batter into the form. Sprinkle on chopped white chocolate and bake for 15-20 min.
  • Let the brownies cool completely in the form before removing and slicing. Enjoy!

Notes

I highly recommend using a high quality ceremonial grade matcha if you can. That vibrant green color is a result of the high quality matcha. This will also impact the flavor immensely.
